Killing Me Softly
This series is really killing me softly. There are moments of great defense, aggressive offense and great pitching. Against most other teams (especially those in NL West) we would probably sweep or at least win the series; but not against the Mets.
As I said in my blog yesterday, the Met's just DON'T go away. There isn't one batter in the lineup that can't (and hasn't) hurt us in the past three days. They are a great team and I won't take that away from them.
We had such a great home record going into this series, I hope the guys don't let it get them down. We have everything we need to get a win tomorrow and not get swept, we just need our pitchers to figure out a way to shut down what seems like (to a Giants fan) the hottest team in baseball.
The past few outings from the Big Unit has really got me worried. That, along with Sanchez's inconsistencies, is starting to make me even more nervous than usual. There were a handful of innings he looked strong today, but for the most part he got hit, and he got hit hard. They hit them where they aint, and that's the name of the game.
One of the things that stuck out to me was the fact that until today, Johnson had NEVER givin up four strait hits. Ever. Well today, he did it twice.
I want to end this blog entry on a good note, so I will remind everyone out there in blogland that the Giants are ten times better right now, then they have been the past three seasons. I am proud (as always) to be a diehard fan of a team that's always the underdog.
Tomorrow's game is at 5:00 and can be seen on ESPN.
The pitching match-ups are Cain (3-1) vs Pelfry (who's 4-0).
Hopefully tomorrow will start us on a nice little win streak. The Dodgers lost tonight (finally!) so we really need to pick it up. I know its early in the season, but I want to at least keep it close.
Goodnight everyone! Have a fantastic rest of the weekend. : )

Must stay for the record that I'm New York Yankee & SF Giants fan.Goto one Giants game a year out my base from New York. There are two teams which hate when my teams lose to first Boston Redsox & New York Mets.Jets you 100% right when you state in shame that Giants can't hit.The Giants have habit to tense their fan base but fail to delivery the goods.I hope before my time is up would like to see SF Giants vs NY Yankees play each other in a World Series. To me may should consider putting Randy Johnson in Bullpen where might do more good for the team.If the Gaints fail this year the Skip has to go.
Let's go Giants,
Adam

Hi Jessica!
Finally got a chance to read your new entries this afternoon! Yeah, gotta love these lazy spring Sundays, perfect baseball weather! But, always look forward to your Giants blog, and, of course, you are also hilarious via Twitter! So refreshing to read an SFG blog from a smart woman's point-of-view! :) I am agreeing with you that we've got the drive, fire, talent/skills (and, in my opinion, not to mention probably the best-looking fanbase in all of NL and AL combined), but somehow, we're not able to hit the ball! Other than good pitching, hitting the ball hard, that's the main goal we all wanna see: hitting it hard over the outfielder's head, outta the ballpark, or preferably smack hard into the opponents' ugly smug faces--that's what we should be doing during every inning, but, somehow, we're not, and it sucks to smithereens that it seems like Bengie is the only one "seemingly doing all the work!" Guys like Aaron and Aurilia, and even Ishikawa, all have the the capability. We've witnessed their shining moments when they made glorious hits/homeruns, and they were all awesome and "naturally" executed. Surely, those hits didn't come by sheer luck, so, that should be the case in every game. True, the season is still early, but we do need to get something started, for the sake of us taking advantage of Manny's temporary departure. LOL... Well, I've written my 2-cents worth, and am now looking forward to reading more of your smart, sassy blogs, Jessica! I still believe the Giants need to hire you, like, ASAP to lift up team morale! Thanks again for your great insights! ~C.

Thanks Adam and C!
Adam,
A Yankee and Giants fan?! You must be one of a kind! I love it though, and of course any one who likes the Giants. I actually met someone who lived in LA but was raised in SF so they supported the Giants and the Dodgers, can you imagine!
I think Johnson in the bullpen would be pretty smart, but it will never happen, at least not until he gets his 300th win.
C,
Thank you again for all your kind words! And yes, we need someone who can hit the ball so bengie can take a little of the weight off his shoulders. I don't even mind if we don't have a power hitter. As long as we have about 3-4 guys who can hit 20+ homers a year, I think we would be awesome!
