18-15 is Nothing to Cry About

Would it have been nice to sweep the Nationals? Yes, of course it would have been. The reality however is that like many starts this year, the Giants just couldn't give Zito the run support he needed early on in the game. Too little, too late seemed to be the theme today, offensively speaking.

Overall though, it was a good series in which the Giants came out on top. Our record this year seems fifty times better than last year at this time. Maybe it's the team morale, maybe it's the low expectations or maybe it's just baseball. I'm going to go with the latter.

Again Pablo Sandoval had some great defensive plays, Zito started out really strong and it was nice to see some of the kids get a start today. I think that the combination of veterans and newcomers has really had an effect on everyone in the dugout, and it's going to pay off (I hope!).

The key to the Giants offense seems to be scoring first. The fact they are undefeated when scoring first is HUGE.

Tomorrow kicks off a four game homestead against the Mets, this should be a true test of wills and hopefully the bats will be wide awake for this series.

Game time tomorrow is 7:15PST and Sanchez is the starting pitcher. You can watch the game locally on CSN-BA.

Have a great night everyone.

GO GIANTS!

Welcome to MLBlogs! I've gotta say that I was impressed with the class displayed by Giants fans today when Ryan Zimmerman's hit streak ended. The applause and partial standing ovation was pretty cool...it definitely wouldn't have happened in Philly or New York!

Thanks Shelley and Mets Fan!

As for the kudo's to Zimmerman, I think if it was a Dodger it woudn't happen, but any other team, totally. MOST giants fans know how impressive that is, so they should get a pat on the back, especially since they were the away team and he didn't have his home team fans to do it for him. Thanks for reading!

I have one question. Nothing against you Giants Jabber but how come when you started blogging you got a ton of comments and it took me a very long time to commenters. Stop by my blog for my daily trivia.

Hi Metsgl, you're guess is as good as mine! Maybe because I have a decent sized following on Twitter or Facebook? Or maybe I just caught it at the right time. To be honest with ya, I have no idea! : )
